No Soul Left Behind

In spiritual circles, you often hear people talk of evolving on this path and the experience of leaving others behind.  Leaving friends behind because they are not developing as quickly or have not chosen to evolve in the same way.  It is believing the possibility that someone is spiritually superior or inferior to us. In years past, I had this belief as well.   Today, I see the belief as egoic arrogance.  I don’t believe anyone is left behind.  We make a choice. We choose not to be around certain people anymore.  It’s that simple.   God doesn’t leave anyone behind.  Visualize it this way.  Imagine the earth and then imagine concentric circles representing spiritual development around the earth .  You and your friend are sitting on Mother Earth.  Your friend seems to be vibrating lower than you, seems to be choosing a path not so spiritually enlightened. In other words, they are having a very difficult life experience by their perception and yours.  Or perhaps it is the beggar on the street.  While this may be the physical reality of this person, what if energetically your friend or the beggar were actually functioning on a much higher spiritual plane?  What if you are on Mother Earth and their Soul is on one of the outermost concentric circles?

Take the beggar on the street.  What if he is there to create the opportunity for others to judge him?  As they sit in judgment, perhaps they will notice and tell the truth about their judgment and  look deeper at what it means for them. Perhaps they will notice they have a fear about being in his place.  ”There except for me go I.”   Perhaps he will create a shift in them that moves them toward compassion.  Perhaps from compassion they will feel love.  What a high calling for a human being to agree to come here and take the role of beggar for our spiritual development.  And we thought he was spiritually inferior.  How very…inferior…of us.  He’s operating  out there on that concentric circle you can’t see because you are only focused on what you can see with your physical eyes.  There are angels all around you calling you to love by first causing you to notice where you are not being love.

My friend emailed me that her ego was feeling not as “advanced” in her personal spiritual growth as I am and that made her feel lesser than.  My response?  ”You are not lesser than anyone, as your ego would have you believe. We all have the same stages of development, just different time tables.  The peace I know is yours for the asking.  You just might not need ten cosmic 2 x 4′s as I did to know peace within. Hmmmmm, does that make YOU more advanced?!  See how silly the whole superior/inferior conversation is?”

In the place of this dualistic conversation, we might ask what would love do?

….that to find beauty in everyone you must see beauty in everyone, then announce that you see it, for in announcing it, you place it there in their reality.

Do not miss a single chance — not one single opportunity — to tell someone how wonderful they are, how special they are, how important to you they are, how incredible as a person they are, how beautiful they are inside and out. Do not miss a single opening in which to insert such a comment, genuinely felt and genuinely meant.

Make it your life’s mission today to bring to the attention of another just how extraordinary they are. Say it. Say it. SAY it. Their heart is waiting to know that their own best thought about themselves can be believed.

Love, Your Friend….
